(LPAN) Lao-Thai and Thai-Lao Joint Border Sub-Committees held their second annual meeting for 2017 in Khonkaen Province of the Kingdom of Thailand during August 09-12, 2017. The meeting was co-chaired by Director of Border Department of the General Staff Department of the Lao People’s Army, who was the chairman of Lao-Thai Joint Border Sub-Committee, Brig. Gen. Siphanh Phouthavong, and Director of Military Border Affairs Department of the Thai-Royal Army, who was the chairman of Thai-Lao Joint Border Sub-Committee, Lt. Gen. Khamron Kreuavijayajarn, and there were concerning officers from both sides taking part in.

The celebration aims to memorialize great achievement of the Lao People’s Army having gained over the past 70 years in fighting for independence and safeguarding and developing the country under the leadership of the Lao Peopke’s Revolutionary Party.
