Minister of Defence gets promoted from Lt. Gen. to General

(LPAN) Rank Promotion announcement ceremony of Lieutenant General Chansamone Chanyalath, Minister of Defence, up to General took place on December 13, 2018 by honorably taking part in of Vice President Phanhkham Viphavanh with other Politburo Members, Party Central Secretariat Committee Members, Party central Committee Members and high ranking officers.
During the ceremony, Deputy Chief of Organization Board of the Party Central Committee, Mr. Thongchanh Khongchoumkham, presented the Decree of the President of Lao PDR on Rank Promotion of military high ranking officers in offering promotion from Lieutenant General to General which the highest rank of the Lao People’s Army in accordance with the Constitution of the Lao PDR amended in 2015 article 67 No. 6 and the Law on Military Officers of the Lao People’s Army amended in 2018 and the Letter of Proposal of the Prime Minister of Lao PDR Ref, No. 161/PM dated 23rd November 2018 article 1 that proposed to offer rank promotion to Comrade Chansamone Chanyalath from Lieutenant General to General.
Talking to the ceremony, Vice President Phankham Viphavanh said that the rank promotion offering to high ranking military officers showed the progressive growth of the Lao People’s Army, the Confidence of the Party-State and the Lao multiethnic people and the endorsement of the accomplishment has been gained by the Party-Leadership Committees of Ministry of Lao National Defence in the passing years believing that will surely keep on growing towards the new era as well.
