Deputy Minister National Defense Receives Political Chief Commander Vietnam Military Medical Academy

(LPAN) On July 29, 2026, at the Ministry of National Defense of the Laos, Lt. Gen. Saichay Kommasith Deputy Minister of National Defense and Director of the General Staff Department (GSD) received a courtesy visit from Maj. Gen. Prof. Dr. Nghiem Duc Thuan, Political Chief Commander of the Vietnam Military Medical Academy, along with his delegation at the Ministry of National Defence in Vientiane.
During the meeting, Lt. Gen. Saichay expressed a warm welcome and highly valued the delegation's working visit to the Lao PDR. He highlighted that the visit significantly contributes to enhancing the great friendship, special solidarity, comprehensive cooperation, and strategic partnership between the two Parties, States, and armies of Laos and Vietnam.
Maj. Gen. Prof. Dr. Nghiem Duc Thuan expressed his sincere gratitude for the warm hospitality. He reaffirmed the academy's commitment to continuing close cooperation with the Lao People's Army in knowledge transfer, medical technology sharing, and personnel development to elevate the quality of healthcare and treatment services.
Both sides expressed confidence that stronger military medical cooperation will help to further reinforce the great friendship, special solidarity, comprehensive cooperation and strategic cohesion between Laos and Vietnam.
