Houaphanh Provincial Military Headquarters and Nghe An Border Guard Command Conduct Joint Border Patrol

(LPAN)On July 30, 2026, the Houaphanh Provincial Military Headquarters of the Lao PDR and the Nghe An Provincial Border Guard Command of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam conducted a joint border landmark inspection covering Border Markers 363–364 at the Nam Tai Border Checkpoint in Samtai District, Houaphanh Province. The Lao delegation was led by Colonel Daengphet Chanthavong, Deputy Military Chief Commander, Chief of Staff, and Head of the Patrol Team at the Houaphanh Provincial Military Headquarters. Colonel Nguyen Thanh Trung, Deputy Military Chief Commander and Head of the Patrol Team of the Nghe An Provincial Border Guard Command, led the Vietnamese delegation.
This joint inspection demonstrates the high sense of responsibility of both border security forces in preserving and promoting the long-standing traditional solidarity between Laos and Vietnam, particularly between Houaphanh and Nghe An provinces. Both sides reinforced their commitment to information exchange, joint border management, and the timely prevention and resolution of any border-related incidents, ensuring social order, security, and peaceful cross-border interactions for residents of both nations.
