30th Lao-Thai Joint General Border Committee Meeting Held in Vientiane

(LPAN) On September 9, 2026, the 30th General Border Committee (GBC) Meeting between Laos and Thailand was held in Vientiane. The meeting was co-chaired by Gen. Khamlieng Outhakaysone, Minister of National Defense and Chairman of the Lao-Thai GBC, and Lt. Gen. Adun Boonthamcharoen, Minister of Defense of the Kingdom of Thailand and Chairman of the Thai-Lao GBC, with members of the committees from both sides Laos and Thailand taking place.
During the meeting, both parties reviewed and evaluated the implementation of past achievements. Both sides expressed satisfaction with the tangible progress made in bilateral relations and cooperation, which has yielded mutual benefits, addressed border issues, and enhanced security along the shared border, ensuring peace and order in the region.
In addition, both sides agreed to continue cooperation in humanitarian assistance, natural disaster relief, military medicine, exchange programs for mid-level military officers, cultural and art exchanges, and friendly sports competitions between the two armed forces.
Then, two delegation heads signed the Joint Minutes of the 30th Lao-Thai General Border Committee Meeting.
