Ceremony to hand over duty held for Minister of Security

(LPAN) A ceremony to hand over duty between outgoing Minister of Security, Maj. Gen. Somkeo Silavong, and incoming Minister of Security, Lt. Gen. Vilay Lakhamfong, was held on December 13, 2018 by the witness of Vice President Phankham Viphavanh, Deputy Chief of Organization Board of the Party Central Committee, Mr. Thongchanh Khongchoumkham, and concerning officers from Ministry of Defence and Ministry of Security.
Before signing a paper of handing over duty, the Deputy Chief of Organization Board of the Party Central Committee, Mr. Thongchanh Khongchoumkham, read the Order of the Politburo Members Ref. No. 051/PLPC dated 23rd November 2018 on Removal of Maj. Gen. Somkeo Silavong from Minister of Security to be responsible new mission in Ministry of Defence and the Order of Party Central Secretariat Committee on Removal of Lt. Gen. Vilay Lakhamfong to be Ministry of Security.
Then Maj. Gen. Somkeo Silavong and Lt. Gen. Vilay Lakhamfong signed the document of handing over duty by the witness of the Vice President of the Lao PDR and other concerning officers.
After that Vice President Phankham Viphavanh gave guidance to the ceremony saying; “Organization structure improvement as well as removal and substitution of officers to be in charge of duties are normal tasks to meet the demand of periodically authentic situation.”
“I call for everyone who has been authorized to perform the duty and enthusiastically try to do the best job in order to fulfill all duties assigned,” he added.
