Newly Appointed Director General of GPD starts his mission

(LPAN) Maj. Gen. Thongloy Silivong, Former Xaysomboun Provincial Governor, has been appointed as Director General of the General Political Department, Ministry of Defence, replacing Lt. Gen. Vilay Lakhamfong, who has recently been appointed as Minister of Security. The duty handing over ceremony was held on December 25, 2018 by the witness of Defence Minister, Gen. Chansamone Chanyalath, and other concerning officers. Talking to the ceremony, Gen. Chansamone Chanyalath called for the two military high ranking officers who have newly been appointed to the duties to pay attention in upholding their high responsibilities to guide and command officers to strengthen their solidarity in implementing the two-armed forces building toward strength and modernization.
