Opening of Short-Term Military Training Course for Volunteer Teachers at Vientiane Provincial Military Headquarters

(LPAN) On July 22, 2026, the Vientiane Provincial Military Headquarterts launched a short-term military training course for defense civil servants at Special Commando Battalion 432. The ceremony was chaired by Major General Phaivan Chanthaphomma, Director General of the Ministry of National Defence Office, alongside Mr. Somprasong Souvongkhamchan, Vice President of the Vientiane Provincial Administration Committee, with Party Command-Committee members and commanders of the Provincial MilitaryHeadquarters, representatives from various operational departments, local authorities from Hinheup District, military school faculty, instructors, and volunteer teachers appointed as defense civil servants. During the ceremony, Lieutenant Colonel Khamsone Xamounty, Chief of the General Staff Office of the Vientiane Provincial Military Headquarers, presented the Command’s resolution authorizing the Vientiane Provincial Local Military School to conduct the course, as well as a brief report on the training structure. The course comprises 91 trainees from districts across Vientiane Province for a total duration of 32 days (29.5 active training days). The curriculum is structured into specialized subjects covering basic professional knowledge (28 days / 196 hours) and logistics-technical training (1.5 days / 11 hours). On this occasion, Major General Phaivan Chanthaphomma instructed the leadership, instructors, and trainees to strictly adhere to military discipline, maintain high vigilance, foster unity, and ensure 100% safety throughout the training program.
