GPD launches sports competition to welcome Army Founding Day

(LPAN) On November 18, 2024, the General Political Department (GPD) launched sports competition movement to welcome the 49th Anniversary Lao National Founding Day, 104th Aniversary Birthday of Kaisone POMVIHAN and 76th Anniversary of the Lao People’s Army Founding Day The opening ceremony was under the chairmanship of Maj. Gen. Phaivan CHANTHAPHOMMA,Deputy Director of the GPD, and there were Party-Command Committee, officers and combatants entire the department taking place. The competition included volleyball, sepaktakraw (rattan ball), petanque and military art, which created very joyful atmosphere for the officers and combatants along with improving their physical health and promoting sport activities in the battalion. In addition, it also offered good opportunity to build up solidarity among participants so that they could help one another overcome hardships and fulfill their assigned missions together.
