Minister of Defence meets Chinese defense minister

(LPAN) On September 19, 2025, Lt. Gen. Khamlieng Outhakaysone, Minister of Defence held meetings Chinese counterparts Gen. Dong Jun, on occasion attended in Beijing for the 12th Beijing Xiangshan Forum.
During the meetings, Gen. Dong Jun expressed welcome and highly valued the Lao Defence Minister for attended the 12th Beijing Xiangshan Forum.
Then, Gen. Dong Jun emphasized the critical need for maintaining peace and stability in the Asia-Pacific region as changes unseen in a century are unfolding at a faster pace globally.
China is committed to promoting defense and security cooperation with its neighboring countries for enhanced strategic mutual trust and the protection of each other's core interests, Gen. Dong Jun said added.
Maintaining permanent good-neighborly friendship with China and engaging in long-term mutually beneficial cooperation with China and building the Laos-China community with a shared future.
After that, Lt. Gen. Khamliang Outhakaysone has expressed his gratitude to Chinese Defence Minister for giving a warm welcome, he promised to continue strengthening bilateral cooperation and providing assistance Laos PDR.
