Lao-Russian armies successfully conduct joint military armoured tank exercise, Laros 2025

(LPAN) Lao-Russian joint military armoured tank exercise, “Laros 2025,” conducted at Khoumadam Academy, from 15 – 25 September had successfully been completed. The closing ceremony was held on September 25, which were honourably taken place by Director of the General Staff Department, Maj. Gen. Saychay Khoumasith and Col. Ivan Tarayeve Deputy Commander in Chief of Eastern Military of Russian Federation and there were armoured tank troops from Laos and Russia and invited guests taking part in. Maj. Gen. Saychay Khoumasith said at the closing ceremony that “the Lao-Russian Joint Military Armoured Tank Exercise was conducted for the fifth time under the code “Laros 2025” and the slogan “Shoulder to Shoulder for Peace and Security,”. “Through this exercise, both military armoured tank corps of Laos Russia had exchanged experience and mutually learned a lot in terms of techniques, military tactics and operation on authentic landscape in different levels from lowland. It also boosts the close military relation and cooperation between Laos and Russia,” said Director of the General Staff Department. Then, Col. Ivan Tarayeve was quoted by saying the success of Joint Military Armoured Tank Exercise aims to expand bilateral military cooperation, including fighting against international terrorism for maintenance peace and security. This occasion, the Lao Defence Ministry honourably decorated Friendship Decoration Medal to 41 Russian military experts. Meanwhile the Russian Ministry of Defence also decorated Friendship Military Decoration Medal to 40 Lao military personnel respectively.
