Press conference held to disclose schedule of marking 70th Anniversary of Lao People’s Army Founding Day

(LPAN) A press conference to disclose important schedule of marking the 70th Anniversary of the Lao People’s Army Founding Day (20th January 1949-20th January 2019) was held at Ministry of Defence on December 14, 2018. Taking part in the press conference were the Party-Leadership of Ministry of Defence, Party-Command Committees from military units, invited guests and the mass medias.
Stating to the press conference, Minister of Defence, Gen. Chansamone Chanyalath briefly reviewed the historical event of establishment of the Lao people’s Army on January 20, 1949. Since the day of establishment the Lao People’s Army under the leadership of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party had struggled to gain victory over Colonial Imperialist Aggressors so that the whole nation was liberated in 1975 and the Lao People’s Democratic Republic was established on December 2.
In the new era of safeguarding and constructing the Lao nation, the Lao People’s Army has played the important roles as the main forces in fighting against bad gangs and stabilizing the political function to build up the Lao People’s Democratic Republic towards peace independence democracy unity and prosperity.
“There will be a great celebration of the 70th Anniversary of the Lao People’s Army Founding Day with military parade and other activities to mark the great achievement of safeguarding and constructing our beloved nation,” said Gen. Chansamone Chanyalath.
