Laos and Vietnam’s provinces beef up defence ties

(LPAN) On September 24, 2024, a delegate of Binh Dinh Provincial Military Headquarters of Vietnamese People’s Army led by its Political Chief Commander, Nguyen Minh Heinh visited Champhasack Provincial Military Headquarters of Lao People’s Army to continue strengthening bilateral cooperation. The delegate was warmly welcomed by commanding officers of Champhasack Provincial Military Headquarters, Lao People’s Army led by its Political Chief Commander, Col. Vilatou Vorachit. This visit the two sides had reviewed their defence cooperation over the past years and continue to regularly exchange information about searching the body remains of Vietnamese volunteered soldiers who sacrificed during the Indochina war in Lao territory, increasing joint patrols along the shared border to prevent illegal border crossing and ensure security for the two countries’ people living along the border.
