70th Anniversary of Engineering Corps Founding Day marked

(LPAN) On October 23, 2024, a military parade event was joyfully held to mark the 70th Anniversary of Engineering Corps Founding Day (23/10/1954-23/10/2024). The ceremony was under honorable participation of, Deputy Minister of Defence and also Director General of the General Staff Department, Lt. Gen. Khamlieng Outhakaysone, and Representatives from central and local military forces taking place. According to a report presented to the event by Director of Engineering Department, Brig. Gen. Viengxay Xaysamone, by saying that after our country was liberated, the engineering corps was founded on October 23, 1954, to meet the demand of revolutionary security mission in the new era. It has surrounding areas crushing against all enemies and building up political grass-roots in each locality to encourage all people to participate in maintaining public security, and building and developing the country as its major duty, and under its comprehensive leadership and supervision the Lao People's Army carries out and campaigns the masses to cohesively have solidarity among all ethnicities to protect the new regime. This occasion, Lt. Gen. Khamlieng Outhakayson, gave complement for great outstanding achievement that officers and combatants under the leadership of our party have gained over the past 70 years urging them to keep on such great tradition in maintaining security and orders as well as political stability, sovereignty and territorial integrity to ease the multiethnic people developing their life quality and contributing in safeguarding and developing our beloved fatherland. Then the military parade of various corps to conducted following by mass parade and junior group parade and also sport competition, martial art performance and parachuting.
